Starpoint and Nichols square off live Tuesday evening on the Nickel City Hockey Network in a battle of two defending sectional titleholders.
Starpoint is the reigning Section VI Small Schools Champion, while Nichols won the Monsignor Martin Association crown last season.
The Vikings went on to win the New York State Catholic High School Athletic Association Championship defeating Chaminade 5-4 in overtime. Meantime, the Spartans fell in the Division Two State title game 7-6 to Pelham.
This season, Starpoint has a 6-2 record and have won their last two, defeating Amherst 9-1 last Wednesday and Williamsville South 2-1 on Dec. 21.
Nichols comes into Tuesday’s game with a 3-1 record in Section VI play, defeating Niagara-Wheatfield 8-3 in their last Fed matchup.
Faceoff is scheduled for 5p Tuesday from The Nichols School Rink.
